The new 2001 Emerson PurpleHull Pea Festival “Pea-Shirts” are now
available for purchase.
The shirts feature a souped-up garden tiller and this year’s theme, “Peas, Tillers, & Roundball,” emblazoned across the top.
The shirt was designed by artist Jamie Kirkpatrick and Russell Rowe.
The shirts may be purchased at The Barn Restaurant, Buzz Buy, Diann’s
Hair Affair, and People’s Bank in Emerson, as well as Jim’s Hardware, The
Golden Comb, and Coastal Express in Magnolia.
“We always try to order enough shirts so that people who come from long
distances can buy one at the festival,” said festival spokesman Bill Dailey.
“But you never know how sales are going to go, so we always recommend
you get your shirt early, just to be safe.”
All shirt sizes are $12.
The PurpleHull Pea Festival and World Championship Rotary Tiller Race
will be Saturday, June 30.
