As a prelude to the main event,
the Emerson PurpleHull Pea Festival will hold an “All-You-Can-Eat Salad Bar
& Auction” this Friday, June 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Emerson
School Cafetorium.
The auction will consist of items donated by local businesses and
individuals.
“We’ve had some extremely nice items donated,” said festival
chairman Mildred Beene.
The charge for admission to the salad bar is five dollars, with the
proceeds going toward the festival's goal of purchasing property for the
creation of a park facility in Emerson.

The Emerson PurpleHull Pea Festival will be June 28 and 29, on and near
the grounds of Emerson High School. The
World Championship Rotary Tiller Race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June
