Glen Eades, our festival's founder, was able to attend the 2005 festival,
where this photo was taken.

Glen Eades
Dec.17, 1936 - Nov.8, 2006
There would have never been a PurpleHull Pea Festival, nor a World
Championship Rotary Tiller Race, without Glen Eades.
Both were his inventions, hatched in his fertile mind.
After a long illness, Glen left this world November 8, 2006.
He left behind a family. We extend our sincerest condolences.
He also left behind those of us who, though we be might be unrelated,
still loved him, and have benefited so from his imagination.
He was an extraordinary individual, a genius with a gift for
entertainment.
He will be missed enormously.
(If you haven't been to Glen's page on this Web
site, please do check it out. At the bottom are links to a dozen of
the columns he wrote for the Banner News. You'll enjoy them.)
